First tip I can give you is to hydrate! That's right, drink lots of water so you have nicely hydrated eyelids and it will reduce redness and puffiness!
Next thing and probably the most important is to use a PRIMER! Don't skip this step! Look for a primer that helps with your skin type. There are some more matte ones for oily skin, you can find some that are illuminating and shimmery OR what I personally do is use my foundation in a shade just a tad lighter than my skin color and set with a powder. I really like Urban Decay Primer Potion
That brings us to the next step. Setting your primer with a powder will help with a few things: It will soak any oils from your skin up and creates a barrier between you and the eyeshadow so you don't get any creasing. It will help is last all day long AND makes blending your shadows a complete dream!
I personally recommend one of these 3 powders: Laura Mercier translucent powder (MY FAVE - oily or normal to dry skin)
Airspun translucent powder (For oily skin types)
Vanilla Dust pressed powder (lightweight for those with normal to dry skin)
Last but certainly not least, it's important to have good tools that will help you acheive that perfectly blended look. You don't need a huge set of them though! Just a couple of select tools that can multi task for all your needs. Here are my MUST HAVES:
The iShadow Everything brush from Maskcara Beauty
This beauty has a perfect fluffy blending end and a more compact small end for applying more detailed colors. It's truly the only eyeshadow brush I use almost every single day!
And if you want to get real detailed and have a brush that can do SO MUCH MORE than just eyeshadow grab the Multitasker also from Maskcara Beauty
It will help you with those detailed areas for eyeshadow, create a perfect cut crease, apply your eyeliner, lip liner and is the absolute perfect brow brush to get those tiny detailed hairs drawn on.
I hope this was helpful for you! Please comment below with any questions!
